Description

Mitchell County Memorial Hospital celebrated its grand opening as a county hospital on October 28, 1951. The hospital included 33 beds, an obstetrics department, business office, laboratory, operating room, kitchen, dining room and additional service departments.

Today Mitchell County Regional Health Center is a Critical Access Hospital with twenty-five beds. Over the years, many changes have taken place, from changes to the physical plant in Osage to the formation of a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO). This partnership includes Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mitchell County Memorial Hospital and clinics in Osage, Riceville, St. Ansgar and Stacyville.
